System 42
The Advanced Air System 42 is an addressable fire smoke damper control system that has been designed to actively prevent fire and smoke from spreading through a ductwork system to different rooms and floors in a building. When the system is integrated into a building’s control strategy, it can control other equipment, which can be but is not limited to fans and AHUs via inverter controls (by others), AOVs, and doors or windows. System 42 has the capability to look after automatic changeover of fans from duty to standby.
The system can be one panel controlling up to 500 dampers or eight panels controlling 4,000 dampers, thereby being our most comprehensive damper control monitoring system.
There are up to four loops per panel using bi-directional communication, with the system having a programmed smoke control strategy based on cause and effect to suit the project requirements. There are 120 zone inputs per panel and communication with the BMS through volt-free contact to notify alarm condition or fault.
The decoders are standard open close, variable to give volume control and fan decoders. Each control panel is bench-tested and has to be commissioned on-site by Advanced Air engineers.
