0160 Fire Damper

The Advanced Air range of curtain fire dampers are designed to stop the spread of fire through ventilation ducts passing through walls and floors. The range incorporates features developed through design and testing to achieve full compliance with the harmonised standard BE EN 15650 as required by specifiers, contractors, and fire authorities and embodies our 50 years of experience in product design, manufacture, sales, and service in the UK and Europe.

The 0160 fire damper has one simple function, and that is to maintain the integrity of a wall to ensure the containment of fire. Designed with the blades out of the airstream to offer the lowest resistance held in the open position by the easy maintenance flat bar fusible link rated to 72ºC. Upon reaching that temperature, the solder melts and releases the spring-loaded blades to close and lock into the blade ramps fitted at the base on the sides.

The damper has been tested to BS EN 1366-2 in multiple wall thicknesses and types, offering many options with flexibility with opening sizes from 25mm to 150mm around the damper using a fire batt to complete the installation between the damper and supporting construction.

During testing, the damper meets the leakage requirement of a maximum of 300 m³/h/m² with a negative pressure applied of 300 Pa in all tests. The damper range is from 100mm x 100m to a maximum single section size of 1,000mm x 1,000mm—also circular Ø100mm up to Ø1,000mm. For sizes that exceed in width or height, multi-section units are supplied. For maintenance, the damper should be tested at least once a year, and the EML (Easy Maintenance Link) has a catch that, when pulled, releases the blades, shutting the damper. Resetting the damper is done by lifting the blades back up after being released from the locking ramps. The flat bar link is secured back into the catch to secure the blades.

Advanced Air also offers training on how to install the products correctly within our in-house training facility. Installation Training
