Commissioning
Advanced Air UK Limited’s Commissioning offering is treated extremely seriously as the requirement is often at a time critical period of any project. To try and make the delivery of this service as seamless as possible, we promote a collaborative approach with customers to ensure that projects are in a satisfactory position to enable the works to be completed efficiently.
Prior to arrival on site, a pre-commissioning checklist will be issued to the customer, this will include the following questions:
- Have all Main Panels been installed fully?
- Is there a stable power supply to the Main Panel?
- Have all loops been glanded into the Main Panel?
- Have all inputs (fire alarm / override) been run into the panel?
- If a Multi Panel site, is a link cable between panels Installed?
- Have the loops been wired into all the decoders?
- Is there a stable power supply to all the decoders?
- Has a complete Damper Cause and Effect schedule been filled in?
- Have the loops been pre-commissioned?
- If NO – advice on this is available with a guide
- If YES – please provide the following supporting information
- Completed Loop Sequence Charts
- Photos of the configuration screens showing the hex number
Ideally all these questions and actions will be completed by the customer and the required information issued. If not, wherever possible and if time allows, our engineers will work with the customer to achieve these requirements.
Further to this the commissioning of the system will be undertaken and a final commissioning certificate presented once the works are completed. Again, during the commissioning process, visual inspections of dampers will be reviewed to ensure compliance.
Maintenance Regime
Advanced Air UK Limited are proud of our robust maintenance regime and a synopsis of what is included is detailed below. Our maintenance programme is designed to ensure the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
Initial Survey
To ensure that dampers are accessible and that all access equipment and safety requirements are understood to allow the works to be completed safely and efficiently.
External Checks
Checking that the installation of the damper is in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation manual, firestopping is in good condition and access doors are unhindered and usable.
Internal Checks
Visual inspection to look for damage or obstructions to the curtain and / or blades, internal blades are operating and closing fully, spring mechanism is working, channels and side rails are clear of obstructions, fusible link intact and correct type fitted, condition of damper is reviewed to ensure that any dirt or detriment is not causing the damper to operate incorrectly.
Damper Testing
Before and after photographs will be taken to illustrate that the damper has been left in a working condition, dampers are cleaned and lubricated to remove any excess dirt, all serviceable parts of the damper are checked to ensure they are in good working order, any replacement parts required will be fitted or reported on their requirement if unavailable.
Reporting
Further to these stages of maintenance being completed, a fully detailed report will becompiled and presented to the customer on the completion of the works. This report will identify recommendations and any repairs carried out or future repairs that are deemed required to ensure compliance.
Our Team
Jonathon Owen is our Site Services Manager and is an experienced engineer, with over 15 years of experience working in the industry. Jonathon and a select number of the team are qualified commissioning engineers, and will be able to program and determine cause and effect faults on control panels.
All engineers are subject to annual refresher training and are also required to hold a vocational qualification that demonstrates their competence.
